About the author – Jack L. Drain

USAF Retired Lt/Col Jack L. Drain

This is the first book by USAF Retired Lt/Col Jack L. Drain, a Command Pilot, who has 268 combat missions in Korea and Vietnam to his credit. He retired in 1971 and was active in the financial world until 1990 when he helped build a Prescription Drug claim processing service (Now owned by CVS) until 2000. Again retiring at the age of 70, he became a hospital volunteer chaplain and serves in various church-related activities. Jack and his wife, Carolyn, have been married fifty-five years. They are the proud parents of five grown children and eleven grandchildren. They reside in Bedford, Texas.

From such a short biography, a world spanning, diverse and exciting life of thrilling adventures and close calls emerges. Living in France, Spain and across America, Lt/Col Drain encounters hard-to-believe events and experiences with great and near great people. As one friend observes, “He must have kept a legion of God’s Guardian Angels racing to his needs.” Jack’s version is that “God has a plan for me and my task is to follow where He leads.”
